Plan(t)s for bioeconomy - Workshop & Excursion

Plants as an important pillar of the bioeconomy - that was the core of the two-day workshop at the PLANT 2030 ACADEMY. From September 27th to 28th, 2022, young plant researchers met in Straubing, a model region for bioeconomy.

They visited the Clariant Sunliquid Pilot Plant, which converts plant residues into bioethanol, learned from experts at the Technology and Support Center TFZ about crops relevant to energy and raw material production and gained exciting insights into plant breeding for special applications at ESKUSA. In addition to intensive discussions about the social, economic and ecological aspects of a plant-based economy, the focus was of course also on the exchange with peers from plant research.
