Here comes the second chapter of our online course trilogy on professional visualization and presentation of scientific data.

Course II: Scientific Poster Design

Presenting complex scientific data on the limited space of a poster is a daunting task for most scientists. What are the determining factors of a good poster? How to catch the attention of a viewer and keep him/her diving into the presented data? These are the focal points of our new online course.

Why should you join?

In this course, you will learn how to create professional, impactful scientific posters. The course is divided into two main parts:

Part 1: Basics of scientific poster design

  • Key design principles: Dos and don’ts of poster design.
  • Visual storytelling: Selecting key figures and delivering clear messages.
  • Effective layouts: Optimizing the use of color, fonts, and space for readability and engagement.

Part 2: Hands-on poster design with Microsoft Publisher

  • Learn how to create a poster using the software Microsoft Publisher.
  • Watch step-by-step demonstrations from setting up your document to arranging content and optimizing figures, text and spaces for a professional look.

Earn your certificate

Participants who have completed all videos of the course by December 20, will receive a Confirmation of Participation as PDF for download.

Moreover, all participants will have the opportunity to earn an additional Certificate of Achievement. The certificate will be granted for participating in an exercise of creating a scientific poster and peer-reviewing two posters of colleagues. A detailed description and deadline for completion will be available on the course platform.
