The Summer School "Hands-on Plant Breeding" took place at the renowned breeding company NPZ (Norddeutsche Pflanzenzucht Hans-Georg Lembke) in Groß Lüsewitz and Poel Island and JKI (Julius Kühn Institute) in Groß Lüsewitz .

Topics included testing resistance, marker lab, phytopathology, crossing, commercial breeding and assessment of plants. We had a look on different crops ranging from rape seed and legumes to grasses. The 10 attendees gained insights into the work routines of a breeding company and hands-on training.
